Love Must Live Here

10 years of Pastoral love

10 years of selfless service to God above

and to this fellowship - equipping us to be

Servants of love

10 years attempting to make us understand your heart

Pastor and People
No “I”s and “Me”s
It’s “Us” and “We”s

10 years showing us the grand plan is more than Pastor and People

It’s about the King and His Kingdom

and the call for all disciples to come together in unity of the faith

Joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share…” (Ephesians 4:13-16)

To advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ

And in order for that to happen - in order for that to be accomplished

Love MUST live here

That is what we celebrate today.

If we are to be
Effective and
True witnesses of God's grace and mercy
Even in the midst of controversy
We are to reflect His glory
By how our lives tell His story

If we are to be about
Our Father's business
Then we ought to realize by now
that all eyes are on us
Action speaks louder than words
So our walk supersedes our talk

Nothing is concealed
and much is revealed about who we are
By what we say AND how we say it
By what makes us laugh
and what makes us cry
By what we pay for and what we seek to buy
and definitely by the way we treat one another
For by this all will know that you are My disciples,
if you have love…”
one for the other (John 13:35)

If we are to boldly proclaim Jesus as
Our Lord and Savior

Then we cannot maintain the same behavior

and expect others to believe our report

It’s time to abort our old ways and let go of former days
We cannot afford to let Fear in

and lock Love out

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power

and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

When we allow our fear of change, anything strange and different

to displace Love from its rightful spot
we relegate God to second place
instead of the top
of our priorities
or as a second thought
Forgetting that Jesus bought us

with His blood
Or worse than that
In an effort to preserve the status quo

we let the traditions of men
dictate when we stay and when we go
proceed with "Yes" when God says, "No"

It’s time to starve our fears
And not allow another 10 years with this Pastor and our First Lady
To slip by
Without showing any signs of
growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Ephesians 4:16)

Love cannot share space, be in the same place with Hate
Cannot be roommates with Unforgiveness
nor made to contend with Revenge and all her friends
Love does not mix company with Partiality

and will not be shadowed by Nepotism and Favoritism

Love avoids all schisms

and will not be found living

under a roof of Misunderstandings and Misgivings

Love must be allowed to live here
unencumbered and undisturbed

Love is not fighting for visitation rights
nor joint custody with the world

Love cannot just be allowed to stop by for a visit
to shoot the breeze, then asked to pack up its bags and leave

Love is not looking to rent a room and stay in its corner

Love needs to play a grander part

and deserves the highest place of honor in the believer’s heart

Love cannot be fleeting like a chance meeting

Love, unlike a faction, must take up full residence in our hearts
evidenced by our speech as well as our actions

Love must LIVE here

Love is a much-needed seed, expected to grow and needed for growth

till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” (Ephesians 4:13)

Love is infinite

The requisite nourishment for our souls and the renewal of our minds

Love finds us, chooses us but we can refuse to let Him in

Love is a choice and Love has a voice

Love is the Word
but it needs to be seen and not just heard

While not taught, it can be emulated, contagious and stimulating

So, if we expect to have any power over sin

Love must live here

Allowed in and permitted to stay

He is the truth, the life and the way (John 14:6)

with full ownership and complete control

when He enters our hearts and soul

Much to the chagrin of the deceiver

Love unfolds in the life of the believer
until the scales of youth fall from our eyes
and we finally realize and understand our affinity

and our need for love

to effectuate the work of the ministry

“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” (1 John 4:16)

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

(1 Corinthians 13:13)

God is Love

And He must live here

in our church, in our homes and

in our hearts

For without Him, we are nothing and can do nothing.

He is Who we celebrate today.
